1- You will receive a purchase confirmation by email. Within the next 48 h we will send you the electronic tickets and the bike voucher in Formentera.
2- From the Ibiza/Formentera Port, you can board any ferry from Trasmapi or Formentera Lines (open schedules: see schedule).
3- You only need the QR Code to board, no need to print.
4- Upon arrival at the Formentera Port, you can pick up your bike at the Formotor office, 150 meters from the Maritime Station.
5- The bike will be available for you until 7 or 8 PM (depending on the season).
6-You can plan a day in Formentera with our map.
7-Return the bike and board the ferry back to Ibiza, at the time of your choice (Trasmapi or Formentera Lines).

Can Formentera be explored by bike?
Everything you need to know
Formentera is a very small island (18 km long) and quite flat, it’s ideal for exploring by bike (see our map). The only elevated area is La Mola (200 m above sea level) at one end of the island, otherwise (beaches and towns) are easily accessible by bike.
Formentera has alternative trails to the main roads, specially made for bicycles, called Green Routes (you can download the map or ask for it upon arrival at the “Tourist Info” in the Maritime Station).
If you’re visiting Formentera for the day, after passing through La Savina Port you’ll see a bike path — if you follow it north, it will take you along the coast and from there to the main beaches (you won’t need to ride on the road at any point). The path runs from the port to the famous Illetes beaches and will take about 15 minutes to reach.
Formentera by bike in one day. The best route:
If you want to explore Formentera by bike in one day, you have many options, but the main one can be divided into three stages:
1- Ses Illetes Route: see on Google Maps (15 minutes).
To reach Illetes, pick up your bike at La Savina Port, follow the “red bike lane through town” and then continue along the sea (do not go on the main road). Once the sea is on your left, ride straight ahead to Illetes or Levante (the two main beaches on the island).
2- Illetes to Es Pujols: see on Google Maps (30 minutes).
From Illetes you can extend your route to the town of Es Pujols, 2 km away. In this case, you’ll need to ride a few meters on the road. For the return to the port, a great alternative is to circle the lake and avoid the main road (see route on Google Maps).
3- Migjorn Beach: see on Google Maps (1 hour).
If you’re looking for more adventure, from the town of Es Pujols there’s a rural path to the beaches of Migjorn, crossing the island from one side to the other. There you’ll find long white-sand beaches with many beach bars and restaurants.
And if you’re in good shape and still eager to pedal, you can continue on to Es Cap Lighthouse (a perfect spot to watch the sunset). On your way back to the port, you’ll pass through the island’s main town, San Francisco.
This complete tour takes about 3 hours of continuous riding (41 km), and you can take the whole day to do it, enjoying stops at different beaches and beach bars. To see the full tour, follow this Google Maps link.

Which bike model to rent in Formentera?
The classic Trekking bike, with a front basket, is an iconic image of Formentera and is ideal for getting around beach areas. Our model includes gears, lock, helmet, and basket (though it’s always best to request the basket and helmet in the comments when booking).
If you plan to ride a bit more — for example, cycling to La Mola or Es Cap Lighthouse — we recommend the E-bike or MTB models.
Keep in mind that electric bikes are perfect for both the road and any of the special bike trails on the island. With them, you’ll be able to see much more in less time (you can actually ride across the island with little effort), and they’re very easy to use even if you’ve never ridden one before.
For the more adventurous who want to go off-road or take on rougher terrain, the MTB Plus is definitely the way to go.
What is the price of bicycles in Formentera?
- Seasonal prices: Prices vary depending on the season: best price in low season (April, May, October, and November). Standard price in mid-season (June and September). And the highest price in high season (July and August). Also, the more days you rent the bike, the better the daily rate (an automatic daily discount is applied up to 8 days).
- Early booking: Additionally, whenever you book in advance through the website, you’ll receive a very good discount (in all seasons). But if you arrive on the island without a booking, you’ll find that list prices are 15 to 20% more expensive.

Rental conditions, deposit and extra costs:
Cancellation policies and rates you accept when making a reservation through this website:
- Cancellation policy: The cancellation or modification fee is the deposit or one rental day (for multi-day bookings), unless you selected the Flex rate.
- Flexible Rate: if you select this extra (3 € per booking) at the time of booking, you’ll be able to change or cancel your reservation free of charge up to 24 hours in advance. After that time, you’ll lose the deposit or one day of rental for multi-day bookings.
- Basket: the basket is an included extra, but it’s a limited service (especially in high season). To guarantee your basket, REQUEST IT in advance when making your reservation in “Additional Information and Comments“.
- Basket by model: Trekking and E-bike have the option to include a basket. Not available for MTB models.
- Lock: it is included in the price, but for groups, one will be provided every 2 bicycles. For E-bikes the lock is built-in.
- Reflective vest: included in the price, but you must request it in advance in the comments.
- Helmet and Light: also included free of charge, but since it’s a limited service (especially in high season), to guarantee your helmet and light REQUEST THEM in advance in the Additional Information and Comments section of your booking.
Deposit: rental requires a deposit of 20 €, except for e-bikes which require 50 €. We recommend paying in cash to speed up the return process.
Contract: under new Spanish laws, a series of personal data is required. It’s best to fill in this data in advance via the link you’ll receive, to save time when picking up the bike. Without this data, rental is not possible.
Roadside assistance: for this service, you must call the number provided in the contract you’ll receive when picking up the bicycle.
Important: Office and assistance hours are only from 9am to 1pm and 4pm to 8pm. Outside these hours, assistance is not available. The response time will depend on the workload that day and will be on a first-call basis.

Bicycle rental at the Port of Formentera.
If you are arriving by ferry from Ibiza, the best option is to rent from an office located at the island’s only port, La Savina. In our booking engine, select “Puerto de Formentera (La Savina)” under “Delivery Office”.

What if I want to ride up to La Mola in Formentera?
If your plan is to ride up to La Mola, the small mountain located at the far end of the island, the best choice is a model with gears, like an MTB or E-Bike.
Be aware that the climb is steep, and you should add the 15 km from the Port. If you’re up for it, we recommend going on Wednesdays or Sundays, when there is a Hippie Market in La Mola and live music in the afternoon. Another important recommendation is to check your lights before heading out, as it’s very likely you’ll come down after sunset.
What’s the cost to have the bike delivered to my accommodation in Formentera?
For those who don’t have a nearby delivery office at their accommodation (or who didn’t book their lodging through Formentera Natural), there is an option for bike delivery directly to your hotel or accommodation. However, this option is only available if there is no office nearby.
To book: select the option Drop off – Accommodation in observation. And in the Additional Information/Comments section, write your accommodation.
This service has an additional variable cost (starting at €5), and you should keep two important things in mind:
1- Delivery is made once per day. If you are not present to receive the bike, you’ll have to wait for the next delivery. There is also no delivery service from 1 pm to 4 pm.
2- Formentera has many internal paths, so you must be very clear when indicating your address, delivery time, and provide one or two contact phone numbers.
Exploring Formentera by bike.
Exploring Formentera by bike requires some fitness and a good MTB (since you’ll be riding many rural paths and stone trails). We offer models of different quality and prices for this purpose, and we even have an electric MTB that’s perfect for the island (E-MTB). Formentera by bike with kids. Child seat for bikes in Formentera.
If you’re planning to take a ride with your kids by bike in Formentera and he/she weighs less than 20 kg, you can add a child seat to the Trekking model.
The price is €5 / day, from the third day it goes down to €3.
When making your reservation online, add this option directly from the website before completing the payment.
Where to rent bike trailers for kids in Formentera?
So far (2024 season), there is no option on the island for kid trailers, meaning the kind that attaches to a bike and has its own wheels.
You will only find: child seats and small bikes for kids in Formentera.
Kids bikes in Formentera.
If you want to rent a kids’ bike in Formentera, just select the “Trekking” option (this is the adult bike) and in “Additional information and indicate your child’s approximate age and height (there are several sizes available, so if you know the wheel size, even better).
Please note that in Formentera it is not allowed to use bikes with training wheels, so your child must be able to ride independently.
We also have helmets for kids and lights (request them in the reservation comments).
Bikes for Groups in Formentera.
If you’re coming to the island with a group of more than 10 people, contact us for a quote at formenteranatural@gmail.com. We have options for up to 100 people, with special group rates, bike delivery in Formentera, and coordinators in English, Spanish, and French.
However, it is very important to note that group services are best arranged during the low season.
Bike guide in Formentera.
We organize coordinated bike tours in Formentera, but only for private groups starting from two people. These groups can be small or large.
Coordinator prices are flexible depending on the number of hours and route, so the best option is to request a quote by email.
Electric bike rental in Formentera.
We offer several models of electric bikes in Formentera. On one hand, we have a Trekking Electric option, ideal for the island and at a lower price, and on the other, we offer various electric MTB options. Most electric models are from 2023/24/25, so the batteries are fast-charging and with great autonomy.
