Formentera Scuba Diving excursion

All you need to know

This is your time to start diving, you will love our Discover Scuba Diving excursion.

What is the Discover Scuba Diving Formentera?

The Discover Scuba Dive is an introduction to scuba dive.

You will start by recognizing the equipment, and you will learn basic techniques for safe diving.

Then you will navigate to the dive spot, in shallow water, where you will have your first experience breathing underwater. We usually dive in El Arco, Es Banc or Punta Gavina, which are very safe places, with a lot of visibility and marine life.

How long does the tour take? And how long will I be underwater?

It will be approximately 2:30 hours in total activity (since we are in the Dive Center navigation, immersion and return)

The time you are underwater will be between 25 and 40 minutes, depending on your air consumption (there are people who breathe more quietly than others).

Do I need previous experience to dive? Do I have to know how to swim?

For the Discover Scuba Dive you do not need previous experience and no need to know how to swim.

In the Discover Scuba Dive in Formentera we will provide you with all the necessary knowledge so that you can dive independently, although you will always have an instructor by your side supervising each of your movements. As for those people who do not know how to swim, scuba diving is an activity independent of swimming, with simple movements that the instructor will teach you.

How deep is diving in Formentera?

The Discover Scuba Diving from Ibiza and Formentera takes place at a shallow depth, in a range of approximately 4 to 8 meters. At that depth is where there is more colorful and marine life.

If you want to dive deeper, you must have the qualification offered by a diving course. For example the Open Water course in Formentera has a duration of 3 to 4 days and allows to you dive up to 18 meters.

What will I see during this dive in the Mediterranean?

The visibility of the water in Formentera is one of the best in the Mediterranean, that is one of the main reasons why many people who are in Ibiza, decide to cross to Formentera by ferry to make the Discover Scuba Dive here (see also the options: ferry + diving and ferry + moto / bike + diving).

Under the water you will see: posidonia meadows, rock formations, starfish, groupers, pollock, octopus, nudibranchs, sargos, sea sponges, oblate, castanets, and much more.

What do I need for the tour?

You just need a swimsuit. You can also bring sunglasses, a cap and an aquatic camera. We’ll give you everything you need at the dive center: suit, booties, diving goggles and other technical equipment.

In the Dive Center you have lockers to leave your clothes and personal effects. Also with showers and dressing rooms.

What time is the diving tour in Formentera?

From May to October we have daily departures (except Sundays). There are two schedules for which you can opt: morning (about 10 am) and afternoon (about 4 pm).

The schedules are approximate, because of logistics issues (sometimes we have to navigate more or less with the ship). We always re-confirm in advance the time you should be in the Dive Center.

What happens if I have to cancel my Discover Scuba Dive in Formentera?

You can cancel your reservation without problems, as long as it is in advance (at least 7 days before to have a 100% refund). If the cancellation occurs with less anticipation, the reasons are reviewed to decide if the refund is total or partial.

If the cancellation is made by the Dive Center for climatic reasons (because the conditions are not ideal or importan reasons) the money is returned immediately.

Can I have photos underwater? Can I bring my camera?

You can request photos during the dive, tell the instructors before leaving, and he will do everything possible to make them.

You can also bring your own water camera if you want to take some photos underwater.
